May 2019 Club Meeting

  • 18 Merino Street Kings Meadows, TAS, 7249 Australia (map)

Our informal 45 minute training session will precede the main meeting, which will commence at 7:30 PM.

Our guest Speaker for the evening will be Andrew Wilson.
Andrew is a professional photographer based in Hobart who, over the years, has produced some stunning projects.

On this occasion, Andrew will be sharing the stories behind his critically acclaimed books;
Old Sea Dogs of Tasmania.

“Are you looking for the best maritime history books on the seven seas? Yes, then you should meet the Old Sea Dogs of Tasmania”.

“For seven years I traveled the coastlines, islands, ports, anchorages and boat sheds of Tasmania photographing and documenting the fascinating tales of the islands oldest living mariners”.

“My journey has resulted in the publication of two coffee table books full of tall tales, high adventures and seascapes of our beautiful island. Combined, the books feature the coastlines of mainland Tasmania, King Island, Flinders Island, Maria Island, Bruny Island and Port Davey, remote areas of the world full of stunning coastlines and rich in maritime adventures”.
